I’ve since seen my reflection in a dozen broken mirrors
But I’ve got this sneaky feeling that my bad luck’s just run dry
As we drove down unknown roads, the clock ticked away from midnight
Stopped and sat beneath the moon, no synthetic light in sight
The emptiness of the universe made us question who we are

I was getting drunk on spirits and writing serenades
